Call center?

are there any psychological, mental ro physical effect to a person who works in the call center industry, especially if they work opposite their normal sleeping hours?Call center?
i work 6 pm to 6 am - this definintely messes with my system
i quit working at the call center becuz i dialed ppl and asked to continue their support - so many people would tell me "soandso died last week," then start to cry. I would spend 15 minutes consoling them and then feel bad for asking the dead for money....

its not an easy job or you wouldnt get paid so much
it affects our mentality, there r many cases in which workers r suffering from mentally disease, it also affects physically coz have to seat and more then 80 % employees r habitate with drink, smoking, sex etc, coz there is easy money u r getting with various allowances etc.
